We started Architectural Wraps in 2009 with a single wide-format printer, a used laminator, and a belief that commercial facilities deserved better than paint and drywall. Fifteen years and 500+ projects later, we've learned a few things about materials, about clients, and about what actually makes a great installation.
What 500 Projects Teaches You
The most important lesson: the quality of an installation is determined before the first panel goes up. Surface prep, material selection, and environmental conditions account for 80% of the outcome. The other 20% is craft, and that only matters if the first 80% is right.
Why We Only Use 3M and Avery Dennison
We made the decision early to work exclusively with 3M and Avery Dennison materials. Not because they're the most expensive, though they often are, but because they're the most predictable. When you're installing a 40-foot mural in a client's lobby, you need to know exactly how the material will behave. Generic vinyl doesn't give you that.
- 3M window films: 10-year manufacturer warranty on most commercial products
- Avery Dennison MPI series: consistent adhesion, air-egress channels, clean removal
- 3M DI-NOC: 5-year warranty, tested to ASTM standards for commercial interiors
- Both brands: full technical support and certified installer programs
The North Texas Difference
North Texas is a demanding environment for exterior graphics. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 100°F, UV exposure is intense, and thermal cycling, the expansion and contraction of surfaces as temperatures swing, puts stress on adhesives and films. We specify materials rated for these conditions, not materials rated for temperate climates.
What Separates a Great Installation from a Mediocre One
1. Surface Preparation
Every surface we install on is cleaned, degreased, and inspected before application. Contamination under a film is invisible until it causes a bubble or a failure six months later. We don't skip this step.
2. Material Selection
The right material for the application. A high-traffic floor graphic needs a different product than a conference room wall mural. We specify based on the surface, the environment, and the expected lifespan: not based on what's cheapest.
3. Installation Conditions
Temperature and humidity affect adhesive performance. We monitor conditions on every job and reschedule when necessary. A film applied in a 45°F warehouse in January will not perform the same as one applied at 70°F.
4. Post-Installation Inspection
Every installation gets a full walkthrough before we leave. We look for edge lifts, bubbles, seam alignment, and surface contamination. If something isn't right, we fix it before the client sees it.
Our Service Area
We serve commercial clients across North Texas and Oklahoma, from Durant to Fort Worth, from Sherman to Dallas. Our two offices (Sherman and Plano) allow us to reach most of our service area within two hours.
We ship nationwide for large-format print projects. Contact us for freight and installation coordination outside our primary service area.
